Partnering with Citizen Effect to Grow Detroit4Detroit
We're delighted to announce a partnership with an inspiring like-minded organization in support of our mission to help Michiganders everywhere lead change in our home state.
Two months ago, Citizen Effect, the global platform connecting citizens to social change projects around the world, launched Detroit4Detroit, a groundbreaking initiative helping 150 Detroiters lead crucial projects across the city. Think of a growing list of Detroit residents, suburbanites, expats, and Michiganders everywhere helping the city's best non-profits raise the the money, visibility, and connections they need to meet their goals. Think of what more that kind of citizen leadership could lead to in Detroit and Michigan.
Our co-founders, for instance, are leading a project to help the Detroit Area Pre College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) launch a K-3 "Little Engineers" Program for one Detroit kindergartner.
Today, Michigan Corps is unveiling its "Detroit4Detroit Ambassadors": five well-known Michiganders who are taking on projects and calling on you to support them and lead projects of your own. They are:
* Jay Adelson, Founding Corps Member of Michigan Corps, Former CEO of Digg, and Founder of Equinix, @jayadelson.
* Mitch Albom, world-renowned author, journalist, and broadcaster, @MitchAlbom.
* Ben Bator & Lauren Leto, Internet entrepreneurs, co-founders of Texts from Last Night, @benbator, @laurenleto.
* Lawrence "LJ" Jackson, defensive end for the Detroit Lions, @LoJackson94.
On behalf of all Michigan Corps Members, we thank Jay, Mitch, Ben, Lauren, and LJ for showcasing citizen engagement!
Will you join them? What Detroit4Detroit project do you think they should select? Click here for the full list and tweet your suggestions to our Ambassadors, @MichiganCorps, and @Detroit4Detroit!
You can also e-mail your suggestions to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). On April 15th, informed by your input, our Ambassadors will begin promoting their projects.
We're delighted to partner with Citizen Effect on Detroit4Detroit and look forward to more collaborations in the future!
