Year in Review: With Your Support, Michigan Corps Innovates
Dear Michigan Corps Member,
As 2011 comes to a close, we reflect on our first full year and look ahead to what follows. With your support, the innovation we set in motion will continue through 2012 and beyond. Click here to donate today and add to our momentum!
We've never been more excited about our mission to provide opportunities for Michiganders here - and everywhere - to lead social change together on behalf of our state's youth and entrepreneurs.
Our work this past year was recognized by the the White House, Crain's Detroit Business, the Clinton Global Initiative, New York's Mayor Bloomberg, the Echoing Green Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurs, and more.
Kiva Detroit. We founded "Kiva Detroit", America's first major community microlending initiative. Through Kiva Detroit, Detroiters are able to champion and lend to local businesses via the Internet. Together, we have empowered hundreds of Detroiters and helped propel a range of entrepreneurs. Read more here and stay tuned for Kiva Michigan.
Make in Detroit. With the White House, we launched "Make in Detroit," a new network of individuals and institutions beginning to work with one another to fuel citizen creativity in the local advanced manufacturing sector. Read more here.
Social Entrepreneurship Roundtable. We teamed up with Public Squared and began building Michigan's first Social Entrepreneurship Roundtable, a new network of social entrepreneurs who work and advocate with one another. Read more here.
Harnessing your "social capital." While we launched a variety of initiatives, many of you used our common home-state identity to forge new "Corps Member" connections with one another, linking entrepreneurs to venture capitalists, social entrepreneurs to business partners, non-profit organizations to like-minded leaders, and young people to ideas. We look forward to growing our social network and connecting a community of Michiganders, online and offline.
Donate today to advance the success of these initiatives. And don't forget to connect in via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to another big year!
Happy Holidays,
The Michigan Corps Team
